Billy Mack (William McNamara), recently discharged from a mental facility after claiming to have been abducted by aliens, is kicked out of his only home—the tool shed at his niece's house. He learns from Dr. Grayson (Alison Eastwood) that his beloved dog, Boo, needs a heart transplant and will do anything to save him. Living out of his Monte Carlo, Billy arranges a lunch meeting to solve his financial woes with a wealthy boarding school friend, Victor de la Warre (Angus Macfadyen), and his associate, Claudia (Claudia Charriez), which results in an offer to become a prostitute. Billy runs into his former manager, Artie Shaw (Randall Batinkoff), who offers to get Billy an audition for old times' sake. While on set, his old friend, Joey Mangipanni (Billy Baldwin), gives him inspirational advice to embrace his homelessness with confidence and pride. RUNNING TIME: 22:41
Billy gets an opportunity to revive his acting career with a B-movie, but a TMZ interview ends up taking his career further backward. His AA sponsor, Bob (Tom Sizemore), helps Billy straighten out an old debt that his friend, Neil (Costas Mandylor), made into a theft operation. Billy's Craigslist escapade of "Saving the Whales" turns out to be a ruse to "Kill the Whales," so he decides to dip his toe into the gigolo world to find an income source. Claudia offers Billy some masculine plastic surgery advice, and he learns that she is transgender. His first date with a rich grandmotherly cougar, Miss Sally Grayson (Sally Kirkland), shows Billy that real work is involved with this job. Abandoning this path, Billy takes the advice of his ex-girlfriend, Lisa Damage (Ele Keats), to attend a retreat with her favorite cult in hopes of reversing his luck, but instead, Billy must make a fast getaway to save his soul. At Lisa's suggestion, Billy joins a quidditch team to build his action reel but unfortunately gets a broomstick to the eye and is given an eyepatch. The video with Billy in the eyepatch goes viral, so Artie finds a job for Billy, cast as Johnny Depp in a drag show. Billy grows increasingly fond of Claudia, who he met during his short gigolo stint, but Claudia accidentally runs over Lisa, his ex-girlfriend, when returning his eye. Billy now cares for Lisa after the accident. Artie finds another look-a-like job for Billy—this time as Rob Lowe to appease a Russian financier's girlfriend, Sofia (Ellen Alexander). After passing the first test as Rob, Billy lands a second role as Rob, playing a soldier after WWII, opposite Sofia, playing Helen Keller. Billy points out inaccuracies of the script; specifically, the writer confused Helen Keller with Anne Frank. This leads to a harsh punishment from the cast and crew. Billy and Sofia attend an AAA (Alien Abductees Anonymous) meeting, which evolves into them going to Sofia's hotel room to rehearse. During the rehearsal, Billy makes an enormous mistake. Storie Hellman (Jake Busey) challenges Billy to a charity MMA showdown, and despite not being in a gym in twenty years, Billy accepts. RUNNING TIME: 25:28
Billy seeks the help of Neil, a steroid dealer, to help him get into shape for the fight, and Billy starts training with famed Brazilian jiu-jitsu teacher Rey Diogo. Neil takes a dangerous side bet from mob boss Terrible Tony Fendericco (Joe Cortese) on the fight. Billy visits Dr. Nono, a renowned alienologist, on a consult to have his alien implant removed from his buttocks. RUNNING TIME: 30:42
Billy, hyped up on a drug cocktail given to him by Neil, causes Storie to take a fatal fall. With the video of the fight going viral, Billy is once again a household name. Terrible Tony kidnaps Boo after his bet goes awry. Artie fields an offer from a Dubai sheik, who wants Billy to reenact the fight with Storie. The money earned from the sheik will cover Boo's ransom. Billy's life takes a step forward as Artie finds him a home in a trailer park and lands him studio movie with Mark Wahlberg. To satisfy Wahlberg, Billy attends acting school—the same one as James Franco—taught by Madlyn Funk (Marilu Henner). At an AAA meeting, Billy meets a waitress, Lillith (Ryann Torrero), who is a possible new love interest. Lilith invites Billy to the desert with her coven to practice Wicca, but the situation takes a dark turn, and Billy finds himself tied up and about to be castrated, only to be rescued by Boo from the clutches of the witches. Billy and Artie meet with a TV executive about Billy starring in his own reality TV show with his transgender friend Claudia. Billy reluctantly agrees with the condition that there is no touching. The producers set up a shoot for a sizzle reel where Billy and Claudia are dining, but during a pickup shot, Billy gets ambushed when asked to do "the big finish." Not reacting well to the misconception, Billy becomes labeled as a transphobe and an immediate pariah. As a result, Artie and all other job prospects fire him, leaving Billy back where he started—jobless and homeless. One person, however, stands by him and joins him and Boo in his Monte Carlo—Claudia.
